What is a fuzz

A Fuzz pedal takes the signal from and audio source and adds harmonic overtones into the upper frequency range turning the singal nearly into a square wave. The Fuzz sound is often described by the extreme clipping you can hear in the overtones which is when all of the frequency range is peaking reachig maximum amplitude, giving a very distorted crunchy sound that dominates the signal.
